Excellent transport connections throughout the city and the region rely on a network of busses, trams, metro, rail, taxis and watertaxis.

A city center map, general tourist information and a public transport map will be part of the information which all participants receive upon registration at the Engels Congress Center.

Travel by air (including ground transportation)

The Rotterdam area is served by two major airports: Amsterdam Schiphol International Airport (SIA) and Rotterdam The Hague Airport (RHA). RHA is the most convenient to the Congress venue and the hotels. Many direct international flights land at SIA. If your travel arrangements allow a choice of destination airports, RHA is recommended as a first choice, followed by SIA. Schiphol International Airport, 45 miles from Rotterdam, is the most user friendly airport in the world and the 4th largest in Europe. SIA has repeatedly earned the accolade of “the world’s favourite airport”. SIA transfers about 25 million passengers a year. Its train station has four direct train connections per hour to Rotterdam Central Station which is situated in the middle of the city next to the congress venue and the NH Atlanta Rotterdam Hotel at walking distance (1 kilometer). Transfer time from Schiphol to Rotterdam by train is about 45 minutes. The new high-speed Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Paris train reduces transfer time to a mere 20 minutes. Rotterdam The Hague Airport is a comfortable and easy regional airport, with many European connections, situated at approximately 3,5 miles from the city centre (15 minutes by taxi, 20 minutes by bus to the Central Station).
